Foil Tapes
Foil tapes are conformable (easy to shape), heat-resistant tapes with many electrical and industrial applications. They are typically constructed by coating a metal foil on one or both sides with an adhesive. Acrylic adhesives are the most popular and bond well over a wide temperature range. Rubber and silicone adhesives are ideal in a range of adverse weather conditions, including subzero temperatures. Copper tapes have superior electrical conductive properties compared to other foil tapes and are used for many electrical shielding, grounding, and mounting applications. Aluminum, lead, and stainless steel tapes are popular for chemical paint stripping and offer an effective barrier to water, chemicals, heat, and vapor. Foil tapes should be applied to clean, dry surfaces for the most effective bond.
