Insulating Tapes
Insulating tapes are pressure-sensitive electrical tapes used for insulating electrical wire. Commonly made out of vinyl for its stretching and insulating properties, insulating tape is black to protect against damage from sunlight. Non-black insulating tape is used out of direct sunlight to identify phases and voltage levels of different wire. A self-adhesive tape, insulating tapes are tightly wrapped around wire to create tension and keep out any moisture. They have excellent weather resisting properties and insulate a variety of conductive materials including copper and aluminum. Insulating tapes are also used for bundling, assembling printed circuit boards (PCB), and replacing other tapes for securing cable.
