Cable Breakout Boots
Cable breakout boots are used to insulate and seal cable breakouts in sheathed cables and conduit ends. To seal the crotch area where individual phases exit the jacket, breakout boots use either cold-shrink or heat-shrink technology. Cold shrink breakout boots are open-ended and mounted on a removable plastic core. Once the phases are inserted into the boot, the plastic core is removed to seal the assembly. Heat-shrink boots retract and seal once heat is applied. Cable breakout boots' toughness brings added electrical and mechanical protection, while their adhesive inner coatings effectively seal against environmental damage.
