Slick-Surface Tapes
Slick surface tapes are self-adhesive tapes with a low coefficient of friction. Their abrasion resistance and slick surfaces let materials slide across without damaging or wearing down conveyer chutes, guide rails, and containers. Also referred to as ultra-high molecular weight (UHMW) tapes, they are used to control squeaking, rattling, and other noises produced by conveyor systems. PTFE/glass cloth combination tapes are durable and heat and puncture resistant. Slick surface tapes backed with a polyethylene film are ideal for protecting metal surfaces from scuffs and wear and for moving materials on a conveyor belt in places prone to sticking. These tapes can also provide a chemical barrier, insulate, and reduce friction. They are self-lubricating, which improves both performance and lifespan.
