Aluminum Tapes
Aluminum tapes are conductive foil tapes used primarily in construction, electrical, HVAC, and general industrial applications. Highly conformable (easy to shape), aluminum foil tapes bond well in subzero and elevated temperatures where they protect against harsh weather conditions. They resist moisture, vapor, chemicals, flames, ultraviolet (UV) radiation, and mold. These resistance properties make them ideal as a masking tape during chemical paint stripping operations, and as a sealing and barrier protection tape against dust, vapor, and water. They are also used for HVAC duct system sealing, vibration damping, and electroplating. They may be coated with a pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive, a silicone adhesive for bonding to silicone surfaces, or a butyl rubber adhesive. Aluminum tapes can be overlapped and remain flexible without cracking or lifting.
