Absorbent Sweeps & Nets

Absorbent sweeps and nets entrap surface oil on water. Two-ply marine sweeps are commonly manufactured in lengths of 100 feet. These absorbents work well with oil and other petroleum-based fluids. Absorbent nets are smaller units that contain a cluster of chemical-resistant filament. Also known as oil nets, floating absorbent nets entrap oil on the water surface. Certain oil nets are reusable after a draining and dousing process. Oil drag nets contain 30 oil nets in each 50-foot section. Drag nets are effective on shorelines and while operating as a sweep between two boats.
