Cable Repair Sleeves & Structural Material
Cable repair sleeves fit over existing sheaths to protect inner components and provide a quick, permanent solution to broken or split sheaths. Some cable repair sleeves are heat-shrink types that shrink to form a tight seal when heat is applied. Hot melt adhesive on the inner wall forms a watertight bond to completely seal the exposed cable. Many wraparound repair sleeves include a metal clip to close the sleeve and provide additional corrosion resistance. Different types of repair sleeves also house cable joints and protect undamaged cables from corrosion. Cold-shrink sleeves are prestretched, which allows for simple installation without additional tools. The rubber sleeve fits tightly over the cable while expanding and contracting with changes in temperature.
