Emergency escape respirators provide workers with breathable air while they escape a low-oxygen, toxic or overall dangerous area. They provide an oxygen supply from five to 15 minutes. Emergency escape respirators come in high-visibility colors such as orange or yellow. They typically consist of an oxygen tank, carrying harness, rubber air hose and polyurethane hood with a neck seal. Some hoods are completely clear, while others have a lens that allows the worker to see.
