Indexable Cutting Tools
Indexable Cutting Tools are commonly known as indexable cutters. Such tools encompass end mills, drills and threading tools. Indexable cutting tools differ from rotary cutting tools in that they are comprised of adjustable and removable parts. Whereas rotary cutting tools may require new edges after a period of time indexable cutters do not. They are an alternative to single shank and cutting edge parts cast from single material. They are interchangeable and adjustable. They are seen as a long term investment that often have a longer useful life than their rotary cutting tool counterparts. These cutters are attached to the machine, usually by a screw. The cutting angles and materials vary on the type of cut and application.
