Insertion Seals
Insertion seals are used for cable protection and consist of rubber tubing that molds around a cable to seal against dirt, moisture, chemicals and other contaminants. They also protect cable from wear and abrasion. During manufacturing, the rubber tubing is expanded and then mounted on a plastic core. When the core is unwound during installation, the tubing retracts back to its original size and provides a tight seal, even on irregular surfaces. Prior to installation, the rubber tubing can easily slide into position. Cold-shrink insertion seals are ideal for environments with fluctuating temperatures, as the rubber tubing expands and contracts with the cable to preserve a tight seal.
