Gloves are available with a variety of resistance features to protect against different hazards. Gloves not only protect against cuts, abrasion, extreme temperatures and chemicals, but they also offer flexibility and dexterity in precision applications. Latex, nitrile and vinyl gloves are used in sterile environments, such as laboratories and cleanrooms. Aluminized gloves are used in welding and other applications that require heat and fire resistance. Dyneema, Kevlar and Spectra gloves are used to handle cutting tools, abrasive materials and sharp objects. They resist punctures, slashes, cuts and abrasion.
