Lead Tapes
Lead tapes are highly malleable and conformable. They typically consist of a lead foil coated with an acrylic or rubber adhesive. Lead tapes provide an effective barrier to moisture, vapor, heat, flames, and ultraviolet (UV) radiation. They are also acid resistant, which makes them ideal for milling and plating operations. Lead tapes are used in electroplating, x-ray plate masking, chemical paint stripping, sealing radioactive canisters, and shielding against heat and radiation. Lead tapes should be applied to clean, dry surfaces and handled with gloves to avoid hazardous health effects.
