Lockout Devices
Lockout devices are used on a wide range of equipment to prevent tampering, contamination, theft, mishandling and accidental equipment start-up. They are secured with padlocks to gate valves, gas cylinders, electrical switches, power cords and circuit breaker panels. Lockout devices can only be removed once all workers have finished their individual tasks and it is safe to reactivate a piece of equipment.
