Stem Connectors

Stem connectors are ideal for connecting a riser cable to an overhead line. Also known as aerial connectors or lugs, they are available in a variety of sizes and configurations. Many stem connectors are designed to be used with cold-shrink terminations. These connectors feature copper stems and aluminum barrels with antioxidant paste. Stem connectors with aluminum barrels are compatible with both aluminum and copper conductors. Most stem connectors are specified by the corresponding stranded conductor size. Based on American Wire Gauge (AWG) standards, conductor size is expressed in single digits or a fraction. For example, size 2/0 stem connectors fit 2/0 AWG stranded cable. The majority of stem connectors feature a six-inch stem available in various diameters.
